Vibrant green juice with cabbage, kale, and ginger for a refreshing detox boost.

# What you need:

→ Vegetables

01 - 1 cup green cabbage, chopped
02 - 1 cup kale leaves, stems removed, chopped
03 - 1 small cucumber, peeled and chopped
04 - 1 stalk celery, chopped

→ Fruit

05 - 1 green apple, cored and chopped
06 - Juice of 1 lemon

→ Flavorings

07 - 1 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
08 - 1/2 cup cold water, optional for blending

# How to make it:

01 - Wash all produce thoroughly under running water. Pat dry with clean kitchen towels.
02 - Chop cabbage, kale, cucumber, and celery into uniform pieces. Core and chop green apple. Peel and mince ginger.
03 - Feed cabbage, kale, cucumber, celery, apple, and ginger through the juicer in succession. Add fresh lemon juice to the extracted juice and stir well.
04 - Combine cabbage, kale, cucumber, celery, apple, ginger, lemon juice, and cold water in blender. Process until completely smooth.
05 - Pour blended mixture through fine mesh sieve or nut milk bag to remove excess pulp. Press gently to extract remaining liquid.
06 - Pour juice into serving glasses. Add ice cubes if desired. Consume immediately for optimal nutrient retention.

# Helpful Hints:

01 -
  • It tastes so much fresher and more alive than anything you could buy at a juice bar, and you actually know what went into it.
  • Ten minutes from fridge to glass means you can make this on the most chaotic mornings without any fuss.
  • Your body genuinely feels the difference, like you've done something genuinely good for yourself before breakfast.
02 -
  • Kale stems will make your juice bitter and grainy if you don't remove them, and I found this out the frustrating way before learning to always strip them first.
  • The difference between drinking this five minutes after making it versus thirty minutes later is genuinely noticeable, so don't prep in advance thinking you're saving time.
03 -
  • If your juicer or blender is struggling, cut your produce into smaller pieces because it makes a massive difference in both speed and efficiency.
  • Drink this juice with a small meal or snack rather than totally on an empty stomach to prevent that light-headed feeling some people get from raw green juice.
