Iced Brown Sugar Oat Latte (Printable)

Creamy iced oat latte with brown sugar syrup and espresso, shaken for a frothy, refreshing drink.

# What you need:

→ Brown Sugar Syrup

01 - 2 tablespoons brown sugar
02 - 2 tablespoons water
03 - 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
04 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Coffee & Milk

05 - 1 shot (1 fluid ounce) espresso or 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
06 - 3/4 cup (6 fluid ounces) chilled oat milk
07 - Ice cubes

# How to make it:

01 - Combine brown sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves completely, then remove from heat. Stir in cinnamon and vanilla extract. Allow syrup to cool.
02 - Brew a fresh espresso shot or prepare strong coffee as preferred.
03 - Fill a cocktail shaker or large jar with ice cubes. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of brown sugar syrup, espresso, and chilled oat milk.
04 - Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until well chilled and frothy.
05 - Strain the mixture into a tall glass filled with fresh ice. Optionally, garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Serve immediately.

# Helpful Hints:

01 -
  • It's vegan and dairy-free but tastes indulgently creamy, no compromises.
  • The brown sugar syrup is dead simple to make and transforms everything it touches.
  • Shaking it yourself means you control the froth and the chill, which sounds silly until you taste the difference.
02 -
  • The syrup absolutely must cool before you shake it, or you'll end up with a warm drink that tastes watered down even though it isn't.
  • Shaking is not optional—blending or stirring gives you a different drink entirely, one without that crucial frothy texture that makes this special.
03 -
  • Chill your glass beforehand if you have time—it keeps the drink cold longer and makes every sip feel intentional.
  • The key to perfect froth is a confident shake and making sure your oat milk is genuinely cold, not just cool.
